Guizhou medical university recently celebrated its 39th annual sports day with much pomp and fervor. The day marked with pleasant weather saw the participation of various other colleges and some spectacular performances by the participating students.

Just like the beautiful ongoing spring festival in China, the performances were colorful, diverse and highly energetic. As the school of overseas education, the University is known for its mixture of diversity and the day saw students represent their college through arts.
Since sport is one field that interests a majority of students, it is needless to say the day was high on adrenaline and excitement.
One very noteworthy show was put up by the students of School of Overseas Education of clinical medicine branch. Dressed in colorful traditional attire, the contingent was headed by Jyoti Tiwari and Prince Bhainsala.
Following which a dance performance was put up by the students. A very remarkable group of students performed gymnastics flawlessly making it all look very effortless.
What stood out was the Tai chi presented by a group of 10 girls and boys each. The traditional Chinese martial art known for its defense training as well as health benefits comprises mind, body and spirit. The college gives professional lessons to its students in Tai chi for their well-being.

With the phenomenal show of Tai chi by the Indian students, it can be safely said that the students have taken to the Chinese art form quite efficiently and the university has proven the power of traditional art forms and how relevant they still are in the world.
Like every year the day will remain in talks for the day to come and as the students were seen dispersing off with excited speculations and discussions about the day. The question of what the sports day of next year will bring for them remains to be seen.
