In 2014, Guizhou Medical University took a visionary step forward by establishing School of Overseas Education, embarking a mission to open its door to the world and cultivate future medical professionals from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds. On April 24th, 2025, all the respected teachers, faculty members and all international students gathered to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this journey and honor a decade of growths, achievements, and global connection.

When I first arrived at Guizhou Medical University, everything felt new and unfamiliar — the language, the culture, even the rhythm of daily life. But from the very first day, the school made it feel like home. On this special night, as we were celebrating the 10th anniversary of the school that has shaped so many of our lives, I can’t help but reflect on the journey that brought us all here.

Many prizes including My Favorite Teacher, Chinese Culture Awards, Guizhou Medical University Scholarships and Guizhou Provincial International Students Scholarship are awarded to the students.

The 10th Anniversary Gala is more than just a celebration; it’s a story of dreams, friendships, hard work, and endless possibilities. Walking into the beautifully decorated hall, surrounded by schoolmates from all corners of the world, I realized how special this community truly is. Over the years, it has not only given us the world-class medical education but has also taught us the values of unity, resilience, and compassion — values that we will carry into our future careers as doctors and healthcare leaders.

The gala itself was a night filled with emotions. The wonderful performances showcased the rich blend of cultures on our campus. The inspiring speeches from professors and alumni reminded us how far we’ve come and how much potential we have ahead of us. Some students shared personal stories about their struggles and triumphs, and as I listened, I realized that although we come from different backgrounds, we all share the same hope: to make a difference in the world.

Seeing the faculty members who have guided us every step of the way, cheering and celebrating alongside us, was incredibly moving. They are more than just teachers; they are mentors, counselors, and sometimes even second parents. The School of Overseas Education has truly built a bridge between nations, between dreams and reality.

As the evening came to a close, and we all sang together, I felt a deep sense of gratitude, for the chance to study here, to meet friends who became family, and to grow into the future doctors we aspire to be.

   Ten years may seem like a short time in history, but for us, it has been life-changing. We are proud to be part of this legacy, and we are excited to carry it forward. Here's to many more decades of excellence, growth, and global friendship at Guizhou Medical University.
