The Chinese Spring Festival, also known as the Lunar New Year, is the most important traditional festival in China. It marks the beginning of the Chinese lunar calendar and is celebrated with various customs and traditions. During this time, friends and families come together to enjoy reunion dinners, exchange red envelopes, etc.
This year is the year of Dragon, and SOE organised Spring Festival celebration on February 6, 2024.
GMU leaders, administration staff and teachers joined us in this regard.
Our respected GMU vice president Zeng Zhu made an encouraging speech to motivate us and wish us a happy new year.
Miss Chen, head of the Publicity Department of GMU also made a ravishing speech. As all of us students are far away from our homeland, she assured us that we are not alone and China is our second homeland.
Mr Fu, head of the International Office of GMU made a heartfelt speech. He hopes that we can tell Chinese stories in our language and help the world better understand China.
We felt honoured to listen to respected leaders' speeches.
Organisers arranged lucky draw contest for all of the students. Our honourable teachers came to draw number randomly, and students who won lucky draws were awarded with gifts.
We were amazed by the management our school made for this special occasion.
Besides lucky draws, we also played a lot of games.
No doubt we had a lot of fun. It was absolutely a great day indeed.
