In view of the current situation of COVID-2019, Guizhou Medical University(GMU) School of Overseas Education(SOE) adjusts its original class schedule and decides to begin its on-line teaching from March 9, 2020.

SOE has begun on-line education on epidemic prevention and control since February 1, 2020, and begun to prepare for on-line education on the basis of existed on-line teaching resources and teaching platforms since mid-February. In accordance with training program and teaching plan, teachers shall update teaching materials, i.e. course wares, digital textbooks and references materials, 1 day in advance through Rain Classroom, Superstar Learning, WeChat group, QQ group, etc. , conduct lectures at the appointed time, help to solve problems, and assign tasks and homework. Students shall download the teaching materials to preview or review, and to participate in on-line discussions. Teaching arrangements for 2020 Spring Semester are as follows:

1. For Batch2014

Students are supposed to study the 10 cases from DxR Clinician and pass the test for each case. Passing the test for 1 case can be counted as 1-week internship. Those who fail should retake the test. The first batch interns should complete their internship before June 30, 2020.

2. For Batch 2015

1) Upon receiving the PPT of Psychiatry and Anesthesiology, which are unfinished in the winter session, students shall study by themselves and take the examination after returning to school.

2) Affected by the epidemic, the clinical internship may be postponed, which was originally scheduled to start in early April. To solve the delay, the internship for Batch 2015 will be still counted as valid from April by studying the 10 cases from DxR Clinician and passing the test for each case. For example，if the internship is postponed for 5 weeks, the students shall study at least 5 cases and pass the test for each case; and if the internship is postponed 5 weeks and the students have studied and passed the test for more than 5 cases, it can only be counted as 5-week internship. Specific internship time shall be subject to SOE further notice. However, if the internship is postponed due to one’s personal reasons, it can not be counted as valid by studying the cases from DxR Clinician and the intern should work in the hospitals for required weeks.

3. For Batch 2016

1) Dermatovenereology is to start from March 23, 2020. The teacher will upload PPT on WeChat, which students shall study by themselves before returning to school. There will also be Q&A Session in WeChat group before students return to school. Traditional teaching will be adopted after students return to school.

2) Physical Diagnose is to start from March 9, 2020. The teacher will upload PPT through Rain Classroom, which students shall study by themselves. There will also be Q&A Session in WeChat group. Traditional teaching will be adopted after students return to school.

3) Basic Surgery, Laboratory Diagnosis and Medical Chinese are to start after students return to school.

4) Neurobiology  is to start from May 4, 2020 through traditional teaching.

4. For Batch 2017

1) Pathology Ⅰ is to start from March 9, 2020. The teacher will upload PPT and videos through Rain Classroom or WeChat group, which students shall study by themselves before returning to school. Traditional teaching will be adopted after students return to school.

2) Medical Immunology (for both 2017 & 2018 Batch) is to start from March 9, 2020. The teacher will send teaching resources links before students return to school; there will also be Q&A Session and on-line test on Rain Classroom.  

3) Medical Parasitology is to start from March 9, 2020. The teacher will send PPT and on-line teaching materials, which students shall study by themselves before returning to school. There will be face-to-face discussions after students return to school.

4) Medical Genetics is to start from March 9, 2020. The teacher will send PPT, which students shall study by themselves. There will also be on-line test and Q&A Session in Rain Classroom.

5）Preventive Medicine and Hodegetics are to start from April 13, 2020.

6）Medical Statistics is to start from March 23, 2020. The teacher will upload PPT, which students shall study by themselves before returning to school. There will also be Q&A Session in WeChat group. Traditional teaching will be adopted after students return to school.

5. For Batch 2018

1) Physiology is to start from March 9, 2020. The teacher will send PPT and audio clips in QQ group before students return to school.

2) Topographic Anatomy is to start after students return to school.

6. For Batch 2019

Organic Chemistry is to start after students return to school.

Tips：

1. Some courses, such as Laboratory and PE, which can not be taught on-line, are to start after students return to school.

2. Language Courses: all language courses except Speaking, Reading and Medical Chinese(for 2016 Batch) are taught on-line.

3. Supplementary examinations which are scheduled to start from March 16 will be postponed till students return to school.

Coordinators notify all students of teaching arrangements above and keep close contact between teachers and students to ensure smooth communication and effective teaching during on-line teaching.
