I. University Profile
Established in 1938, Guizhou Medical University (GMU) was one of the nine national medical schools under the then Ministry of Education. The university spans an area of 3,493 mu, comprising two campuses: Beijing Road and Yunman Lake. It boasts 4 directly affiliated hospitals, 8 non-directly affiliated hospitals, 12 teaching hospitals, and 135 practice teaching bases for non-clinical majors, covering 49 specialties. GMU is a provincial key university in Guizhou Province offering a complete medical education system from bachelor's and master's to doctoral degrees.

II. International Student Education
The international student program at Guizhou Medical University commenced in 2014 and has gained recognition from the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), the Working Committee for Medical Education Accreditation of the Ministry of Education of China, the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates Introducing MyIntealth (ECFMG) , the British General Medical Council(GMC), the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), and the China Pharmaceutical Enterprises Association. To date, over 300 international students from 16 countries have pursued bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees at GMU. Up to now, our students have achieved excellent pass rates in the Medical Licensing Examination. Most graduates have practiced medicine in various countries including the UK, USA, India, Pakistan, and Ghana. In 2017, GMU successfully passed the assessment in the second pilot batch of the "Quality Certification for International Student Education in China" by the China Education Association for International Exchange, becoming the first university in Guizhou Province to obtain this certification. In 2022, the international education achievement "Exploration and Practice of the Training System for International Medical Talents in Local Medical Universities" was awarded the third prize in the "10th Guizhou Provincial Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award".

III. Application Qualifications
This program is primarily open to outstanding international students from ASEAN countries and other Belt and Road Initiative partner countries (for the specific list, please visit: https://www.yidaiyilu.gov.cn/).
Academic and Age Requirements:
1.Applicants for bachelor's degree programs must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with excellent academic performance, and are generally under the age of 25. They must pass the CSCA examination and provide CSCA transcript for the following three subjects: Professional Chinese (Science Chinese), Mathematics, and Chemistry; admission is competitive based on merit. Information regarding the CSCA examination is subject to the official release on the designated website (www.csca.cn).
2.Applicants for master's degree programs must possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent, with excellent academic performance, and are generally under the age of 35.
3.Applicants for doctoral degree programs must possess a master's degree or equivalent, with excellent academic performance, and are generally under the age of 40.
4.Applicants must not be recipients of any other scholarship funding established by Chinese governments at various levels or the host university.Applicants must also meet the relevant enrollment requirements specified in the "Chinese Government Scholarship Application Guide".
5.Applicants for bachelor's degree programs must pass the comprehensive admission interview conducted by the School of Overseas Education of Guizhou Medical University; admission is competitive based on the comprehensive interview assessment. Applicants for master's and doctoral degree programs must pass the comprehensive interview for international postgraduate students conducted by the relevant GMU postgraduate training unit. (The bachelor's program interview is conducted entirely in Chinese; master's and doctoral program interviews may be conducted in Chinese or English).

Bachelor's Programs (Duration): Clinical Medicine (5 years, Chinese-taught), Stomatology (5 years, Chinese-taught), Pharmacy (4 years, Chinese-taught), Pharmacy Administration (4 years, Chinese-taught), Nursing (4 years, Chinese-taught), Preventive Medicine (4 years, Chinese-taught), Food Hygiene and Nutrition (4 years, Chinese-taught), Stomatological Technology (5 years, Chinese-taught), Medical Laboratory Technology (4 years, Chinese-taught).

V. Scholarship Duration and Language Requirements
Scholarship Duration:
Bachelor's programs in medicine: 5 or 4 years (Scholarship duration matches the program length).
Master's programs: 3 years.
Doctoral programs: 4 years.
(Note: If a student fails to complete their studies within the scholarship duration, they are responsible for all costs incurred during extended periods of study).
Chinese Language Requirements (For all Chinese-taught bachelor's programs):
Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must have a Chinese proficiency of at least HSK4 with a score of 180 or above. Applicants with higher scores will be given priority. (Applicants whose highest degree was taught entirely in Chinese may submit a "Medium of Instruction Certificate" from their institution instead of an HSK report).
English Language Requirements (Applicable for master's/doctoral applicants):
Applicants for English-taught programs must have an English proficiency of IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80 or above. (Native English speakers from countries recognized by GMU are exempt from providing English test scores. Applicants whose highest degree was taught entirely in English may submit an "English Taught Certificate" from their institution instead of IELTS/TOEFL scores).

Exemption from registration fee, tuition fee.
Free university dormitory accommodation.
Living allowance:
Bachelor's students: 2,500 CNY/month.
Master's students: 3,000 CNY/month.
Doctoral students: 3,500 CNY/month.
Comprehensive Medical Insurance for International Students in China.

VIII. Required Documents
Scanned copy of the passport information page in PDF. If the current passport's validity does not meet the requirement (passport expiry date should be after September 2026), please obtain a new passport promptly.
Notarized copy of the highest educational certificate/diploma obtained. If currently enrolled, a pre-graduation certificate or study certificate issued by the current institution is required.
Academic transcripts (from the high school level onwards). Scanned transcripts should include records from high school, undergraduate, master's (if applicable), and doctoral (if applicable) studies, up to the most recent semester. Bachelor's applicants must submit the CSCA transcript. Other transcripts should be issued and stamped by the academic affairs office, graduate school, or relevant student administration department of the attending institution. Transcripts in Chinese or English are acceptable; if in another language, a notarized English translation is required.
Language proficiency certificates. Submit relevant certificates as required by the university, such as HSK report, IELTS, or TOEFL score reports; Chinese/English Medium of Instruction Certificates.
Study Plan in China. A detailed study plan (over 1000 words) in Chinese or English is required.
Recommendation letters. Two recommendation letters are required:
Bachelor's applicants: from two teachers.
Master's and Doctoral applicants: from two professors or associate professors.
The letters should focus on the applicant's objectives for studying in China, comprehensive abilities, and future potential, and must be written in Chinese or English.
Photocopy of the "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" (the original should be kept by the applicant). This form, uniformly printed by Chinese health and quarantine authorities, must be completed in English. The medical examination must strictly follow the items listed. Incomplete forms, forms without a photo attached/photo without a stamped seam, or forms without the signature and stamp of the attending physician and hospital are invalid. The physical examination results are valid for 6 months.
Non-criminal record certificate. Applicants must submit a valid non-criminal record certificate issued by the local public security authorities, typically dated within 6 months prior to the application date.
(For Master's/Doctoral Applicants) Published papers, acceptance notices from journal editors, or proof of participation in research projects (Optional for Bachelor's/Master's applicants; Mandatory for Doctoral applicants).
IX. Important Notes
Incomplete, non-authentic application materials, or applications for non-existent programs or programs not covered by this scholarship will not be considered.
Please upload color-scanned copies of relevant documents using a scanner. Photos taken by mobile phones or cameras, and photocopies are not acceptable.
Diplomas/Highest Certificates and transcripts must be accompanied by notarized Chinese or English translations.
During the review process, Guizhou Medical University may require some applicants to provide the original/notarized hard copies of application documents or certification documents issued by designated authorities for further verification. Applicants shall guarantee the authenticity and accuracy of all submitted information and documents. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from the scholarship and revocation of admission.
